FM> Yeah, although I'm not sure that it's an OS/2 bug in this case.

Yair... Telix is very buggy (grin).

It's odd that some people run OS/2 very well, and then suddenly lose
it. This happened to the PCUG when they changed computer. A reliable
multi-line system suddenly went insane.

 FM> I won't go to Win95 either, for a), b), maybe c) and e) - until

Yair... that's my attitude entirely. I keep waiting to see what
happens next. I did that with the original Windows and saved myself a
lot of grief. I realise that I'll have to upgrade eventually...

 FM> I skipped DOS 4 entirely and so far have resisted DOS 6(.xx);
FM> still use Word 2 and have no need to change - I actually don't
FM> *like* the Word 6 interface.

My feeling exactly. I don't like Word 2 all that much either, but
at least I'm used to it. That was the reason I started to learn
programming this time... to write a proper, small, wordprocessor. If I
ever do go up to Win95 and the new programs, it will be with a much
better computer. I don't think I could stand it if I loaded new
software and it ran like a slug again. It's only now with a 486/100
and 24Mb of RAM that Word2 and AutoCad is running at the right speed.

FM> Might have to try and run both soon though, 'cos Rosie started
FM> uni on Tuesday and I think they use it.

Jeeze... what happened to Xmas? What course is she doing?

FM> Still use PKT2QWK etc too, in spite of Paul's exhortations to
FM> get "proper software", because it *works* and I understand it.

Me too. I have great respect for what works...

Regards,
Bob
