That's mainly because Bush said we had to act now, backing up the claim
that Bush said the threat was imminent.

That's true statement, or didn't you read the transcripts of Powell speech
to the U.N.

You are not taking into account what everyone said, remember that Bush is
the head of the United States right now and is responsible for anything his
cabinet says in the name of the United States.

Also to counter your point you are comparing the "left leaning"
press against government staffers, which isn't a real fair comparison.
