I have a 40 gig hitachi drive in it. Then I got a CenDyne labeled external DVDrw usb 2.0 drive because at the price I got it for, I removed the NEC black faced Drive and installed it in my tower computer. It has it's own power supply so I tested it first with a 3.5 hard drive, which ECS LVM cannot seem to detect any space although it seems to mount normally. Then I put a DVD drive back into it and ECS mounts it and reads cds and dvds just fine. (didnt try to set it up for recording).
