Paul Quinn -> Tom Walker said.. PQ>>> Isn't it possible to force discovery of new hardware? TW>> There is an Add Hardware Option in Control Panel. PQ> Ah, ha! Yes! (I didn't have XP running at the time I first PQ> saw your note.) Yes, it is there; I see it now. Only if the PQ> 'Classic view' is clicked on. ;-) Forced discovery only works up to a point on the svga-deprived pc. It actually doesn't find anything wrong or missing in the process. Yet, the driver's status panel reports "driver missing or not functioning properly". Anyway, I shall see if the DELL-supplied video driver.EXE files will make a difference when I get another chance to visit the remote pc in a couple of days. --- Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 (Windows/20100228)* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 550 620 848 953 @PATH: 123/789 500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
