If they are like Epson, yes!

Here in Australia for example, the printer software can only be 
installed under Windoze to the C: volume.
However in UK, there are options for installing to alternative volumes.

Last Deskjet I had was a 500, about 15 years back, and that had 
DIP-switches [default as shipped was for metric/A4], whereas they were 
probably set for Letter etc in those sold in USA.
