Hi! August,

On Sat, 17 Mar 12, you wrote to me:

Oh, then you may have gotten directions to a pub 20-something miles south
of here, if the default 'index.htm(l)' kicked in. Mmm? :)

I am shocked, because I double-double checked that the links worked. All
the way through picking up the links with the clipboard & pasting into
Firefox (I love the 'Paste & Go' option in the new FFs), and even
downloading both files.

Nevertheless, I've just removed all spaces from the filenames. Try them
again without any spaces. (I can't paste the direct link on the Acer site
but it's navigable from 'http://www.acer.com.au/ac/en/AU/content/drivers'.)

AA> The US/CDN Acer locations also provide a driver download for the
AA> AL1916W, but it looks dubious at just under 5K.

That's what I thought about the aussie site. Its download is only ~7.5k.

AA> This is where I found more Acer drivers:
 AA> ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/monitor/lcd
AA> The AL1916W is well represented, but the download options offer an
 AA> "c", "p" and "x" versions. I wonder
what the differences are between
 AA> those.

No idea, I'm afraid. (Are there sub-versions within the AL1916W spec, on a
processing/memory chip [country of origin] level?)

Cheers,
Paul.
