Greetings. I need to take timing from serial GPS NMEA to time a looping 2
minute countdown timer to be sent to a Vorne M1000 for a dog sled race.
I need every second of text for the M1000 to be customizable, (actually only
about ten of them) and for those same points I need an audio file played.

I was told VB would be the quickest and easiest way to do this, but I know
_nothing_ about VB. I am asking for someones help writing this for me. I
need to start doing testing by Feb 1st if at all possible.
GPS in on Com 1, and Vorne out on LPT1 or vice-verse. Alternatively, only
use Com 1 out and time from the internal clock.
I am a ham, doing timing and communications for a public service event so
this is completely not for profit.
