Any external modem will work with it, and you can get special, internal 
modems for the powerbook (though they are harder to find as they are 
different for each series such as the 100 series, the duos, the 500 series, 
ect..).  I know
Supra makes an internal powerbook modem, but i don't know if it will work 
with your computer.

You just need a cable that has the little mac serial-port connector on one 
and and a big 25pin PC style connector on the other end.  (And the package 
must say that it is a hardware handshaking cable). 
CG>               What software is recommended for text-based Email
I use Zterm 1.0.1.  If all you want is a terminal emulation program that is 
the best shareware one out there.
