Hello All!
I'm sorry that this message doesn't really have anything to do with sailing,
but I think I have a good chance of having me question answered here.
Several years ago while working in the caribbean I read a very enjoyable and
humorous fictional book that appeared in a marina library. I am now trying
to find this book to purchase and enjoy again, but for the life of me I can't
remember the title or the author.
It was about an American that was tired of the rat race etc and came upon an
opportunity to purchase an island resort. The name of the island was
"Amerigo" (I think). After much prodding from an eccentric friend/investor
he ended up making the purchase and moving to the island to run his new
business. The book is full of the priceless and typical situations that can
only seem to manifest themselves when moving from the hustle and bustle of
"our world" to a caribbean lifestyle.
Again I apologize that this has nothing to do with sailing, it just seems a
likely chance that someone here may have read this book and can jog my
ory.
8^)
Wayne
