MH> from retired people in my community, the standard response from business MH> people in this town to the 40% of the workforce who pound the pathments MH> in compliance with the requirements for the dole is a firm 'F**K OFF'. LE> Eh ? Could you clarify that ? Your statement seems to mean that you believe LE> 40% of the workforce are not in the workforce -- I don't understand. MH> 40% of those ready, willing and able to work are pounding the pavements, MH> harrassing business people in their fruitless search for work, RS> Fraid not, nothing remotely like 40% MH> Have a look at the situation outside that stinking MH> cesspit surrounding Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay. Thats easy to do, I happen to be further from that 'stinking cesspit' than you are Mick. I do occasionally add to the aircraft noise problem they have there and rather enjoy laughing at their predicament too. NO WHERE has anything remotely like 40% on the dole except a few remote aboriginal communitys. You dont happen to be living in one of those. Batemans Bay doesnt have anything like 40% of its workforce on the dole. MH> You never did anything but shut things down MH> and drive up costs around where I live! Oh crap, we have also organised things so heaps of geriatrics piss off there when they retire Mick. Maybe you should get off your arse and CREATE a job or two by say starting a small business which does the shopping for the immobile or those that no longer drive. Plenty of them are rather well off and are quite prepared to pay for service. Wouldnt even need much to get started either, just an old bomb and a mobile phone should do it. You would be primarily receiving calls, you can get away with $10 a month for the phone. Or, if say you were computer oriented, you may well find that you could make some decent money setting up or assisting with their computing in their homes. Time to stop wingeing and get off your arse Mick. MH> very few get lucky and find one of the govt MH> 'make work' schemes, even less find real jobs. RS> Thats crap too, we have added well over 350K NEW jobs in the last RS> 3 years. If you didnt get one of those, YOU have some problem Mick. There must have been quite a few jobs created by all those geriatrics in YOUR area Mick. Those geriatrics are one of the real growth areas in the economy in the last say 5 years. MH> Subtract all the positions created by way of Govt subsidies MH> that will only last as long as the subsidies last. Its nothing in that 350K Mick. MH> The only real growth has been in bureaucrats MH> to dream up and administer these schemes. Oh crap. The vast bulk of those new jobs have actually been in small business. Sure, they may not all be full time jobs, but the CERTAINLY provide a better income than the dole and you aint bludging off the taxpayer either. AND the tax system is quite generous for the lower incomes, you wont even pay any income tax at all till you get to the sorts of income the dole pays. Corse plenty find it MUCH more convenient to just bludge instead. MH> Thank god the new bunch of no hoppers at the MH> Temple of Self Indulgence will get shot of them. True. Bet some are getting VERY nervous |-) @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/809 934 @PATH: 711/934 |
