Aside from the fact that your example is a bit ambiguous as to what
"our speed" might be, I take it at face value - as you say, and offer
some speculation.
I suppose my hand disappears momentarily. Perhaps if I stay there two
or three days, my fingernails will need trimming sooner than otherwise.
Possibly - if I leave the room and come back a little later, I will
get to see my hand floating in the middle of the field, since it
was there before me.
