What ISP are you with?
My high-speed provider (Shaw cable) has two options: the full-speed one
for $42.95/month and a throttled down version (about double a 56K modem)
for $24.95/month (both unlimited connectin 24/7) (the full one has 7
email address/webspace allotments totalling 280Mb available space per
subscriber); I think the economy account has 3 or maybe just the 1. . .
