It was quite some years ago, but I vaguely recall having a similar problem.
IIRC, it has something to do with the order in which events are 
processed. I believe that internally, VB processes the focus event after 
the click event, so when you click on your option button, the click 
event is fired, and then VB fires it's own internal setfocus event to 
set the focus to the option button.
If the option button, or the option group has a onchange event, then I 
would use that. I'm pretty sure that the onchange event is further down 
the chain.
