In VB6 the following seems to work. It may work in VB.Net.

in Form1: to jump to Form2

    Me.Hide
    Form2.Show vbModal

in Form2 to jump back to Form1

    Me.Hide
    Form1.Show vbmodal

This worked fine for me to jump back and forth several times without any
problems.
