MA> I don't know, but if we base the future of our nation on such
MA>quicksand, placing no value upon the character of the men who lead us,
MA>and are only concerned with the immediate results, we are building the
MA>type of attitude and acceptance of the unacceptable that can be easily
MA>transformed into a threat to our republican form of government.
Precisely.
MA> It's really not that far a leap from accepting the illegal behavior
MA>of a national leader in personal affairs, so long as he produces the
MA>desired results in public affirs, to accepting illegal behavior by a
MA>president in public affairs so long as those results are achieved.
MA>When we reach a stage that an individual can ignore the law, and
MA>therefore the Consitution and justify his or her behavior with results,
MA>we have reached a point where tyrrany has replaced reason and where the
MA>foundations of the Republic have been allowed to crumble.
Again, precisely.
MA> Not so long ago the German people allowed a man to be immune from
MA>the laws and constitution of their own nation because the results he
MA>produced, at first, seemed to far outweight the cost of demanding he
MA>obey the law. Today the American people, overwhelmingly, seem prepared
MA>to ignore the laws of this nation and accept the perceived results of a
MA>leader as evidence of good cause. While Clinton is most certinaly not
MA>a man capable of leading a nation to the extremes that the German
MA>people were once led, he, and the attitudes of compliant acceptance he
MA>has created, could very well be the precursors to such a man.
MA> The depth of danger these events expose this nation to cannot be
MA>overstated.
And that is why people in this echo have resorted to referring to the
Philander in Chief as Kaiser Wilhelm von Klinton. I prefer the title of "El
Presidente" for he is as corrupt as any bannana republic ruling junta that
South America has experienced. No offense to Latin America, just making a
point of fact based on history.
JS>At least the whores on East Colfax acknowledge that they sell themse
JS>and their self respect. For that, they're more honest than the likes
JS>Clinton and those people in America who aren't outraged.
MA> My alarm is not set off by Clinton. Men such as Clinton have
MA>always existed in societies and always will. Rarely, however, are they
MA>embraced with such open arms by the people once they have been exposed
MA>for what they are. It is the acceptance, on behalf of the electorate,
MA>that such behavior can be tolerated int he leader of this nation that
MA>alarms me. If a President can violate the laws we lives by, if he is
MA>above reproach for his acts and his conduct, and is to only be
MA>measured by the results, what constitutional protection posessed by
MA>any of us remains sacred?
None. And THAT's the point after all, isn't it? And since we've been
subjected to OBE for all these years, we've produced a generation that
can't think for itself and see the "clear and present danger" that such a
scenario presents.
