Thought so... I think your best bet is to get the source packages and
use those to create binary packages that will better match your system.
(I don't have any Ubuntu systems created yet so I can't help you directly
at this time...) This is not so hard to do, if you don' mind a little
work at the command line.

What you do is open up a command line window, create a directory to
do the work in, and change to that directory. Since you already have the
neccessary deb-src line for the husky packages, you can then use the
command "apt-get source packagenames" command to get the neccessary source
packages; the compile can be done as part of the same command if any
dependancies are already taken care of... The command "apt-get
build-deps" can be used to get any packages they depend on. The command
"dpkg -i" can be used to install the packages once they've been created.
(See the man pages for more details.)

Any questions, comments, etc.; just let me know... And I would be
most interested in how this goes for you, so I'd appreciate it if you post
about it if you do this.
