Also raise the seat enough so more weight is on the feet rather than the
butt. Weight on the feet help you pedal; on the butt it only gives you a
pain in the rear. If you have toeclips or clipless pedals turn the pedal
upside-down and put your heel on the pedal (assuming you are wearing
regular bicycle shoes and not shoes with pronounced heels. Your knee
should be straight. This will give you the proper knee bend at the stroke
bottom when the ball of your foot is properly on the pedal.
