I wouldn't know, I've programmed in Java VERY sparingly. (even more so than
C++/C!) Java isn't a fav of mine either, even though I like it's
crossplatformness.

I don't think I agree, sounds nasty to me as any forced restart is always
going to be in a bad place for the user.

That's pretty much how RPG or CL works on the AS/400, as you can allocate
all you want throughout the program and it gets all returned at the end of
the program or job depending on how you call it.
Doesn't VB on the PC already work this way too, except for maybe system
calls from it?
