BRACK RETURNS HOME TO CONTINUE REHABILITATION

INDIANAPOLIS, Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 – IRL IndyCar® Series driver Kenny
Brack, who was injured in the season-ending Chevy 500 Oct. 12 at Texas
Motor Speedway, returned to his Upper Arlington, Ohio home Dec. 5, said Dr.
Henry Bock, director of medical services for the Indy Racing League.

After spending almost six weeks at Methodist Hospital and the
Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, both in Indianapolis, Brack was
transferred Dec. 1 to Dodd Hall Rehabilitation Center at The Ohio State
University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio for inpatient therapy.

He will begin his outpatient therapy Dec. 8 at the Ohio Orthopedic Center
of Excellence in Columbus.

“I can tell you that I feel I am getting stronger every day,” Brack said.
“I was ecstatic the other day when the leg doctor came in and said, ‘Your
bones are healing faster than what we expected, and you can start walking
on your left leg tomorrow.’

“Since then, I have walked nearly every day. Every day I am walking a
little bit further. I have been walking with crutches. That’s a lot harder,
as it requires more balance, and it wears me out really fast at the moment.
That’s what happens when you spend about six to seven weeks in bed.”

Brack’s wife, Anita, said both she and Kenny are excited to be back in Columbus.

“It was very emotional to see Kenny up on his feet and walking with
crutches,” said Anita Brack, who is scheduled to have the couple’s first
child in late December. “He is improving daily now. I’m sure he will be
working harder in therapy as he gets stronger. I know he and I are thrilled
to be back home in Columbus now.”

Brack, the 1998 IRL IndyCar Series champion and 1999 Indianapolis 500
winner, suffered a fractured right femur, a fractured sternum, a fractured
lumbar (L-3) vertebra and fractures to both ankles in an accident on Lap
188 of the Chevy 500.

He had surgery on Oct. 12 (femur and ankles) and Oct. 13 (vertebra) at
Dallas’ Parkland Hospital. He had follow-up surgery on his vertebra and
right ankle on Nov. 4 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Daré has surgery: IndyCar Series veteran Airton Daré, who suffered a broken
upper right arm and broken upper right leg in a crash during practice June
5 at Texas Motor Speedway, had follow-up surgery on his right hip Dec. 3 at
Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, said Dr. Henry Bock.

Dare was released from the hospital Dec. 4.
