I ended up making my own shape label control (a bit like the one from 
microsoft help but with dblclick and mousemove options). Learnin' ain't 
never hurt no one.

The control works great.
One question though. When i take take the projects home from work after 
zipping them up, i start to work on my main project in visual basic(which 
references my new customized shapelabel.ocx), i get
"there were errors loading shapelabel.ocx."

So, i don't save, and open up the ocx instead, save a new ocx, and i get 
from my main project after loading it:
shapelabel.ocx has been updated to version blah.

and everything works okay. it's not a big deal,i'm just wondering if i'm i 
doing something wrong?

i have things saved as
c:\my project\thisproject\program-of-mine.vbf
c:\my project\customcontrols\shapelabel.vbf/.ocx
