I've taken the last few years to spending the worst 3 months
of winter 'in town' rather than out at my place on Georgian Bay.
It wasn't too well winterized. There were days when with all
sources of heat going full blast I couldn't get it over 60f,
and while that's going on I had to walk several hundred feet
out on the bay and chop a hole to get water and then walk
2 miles to see if there was any mail.

I've actually done quite a bit of insulating since I got the
place but the basic design doesn't allow for easy fixes..
The first winter I was there, when I came out in the morning
I had to chop through the ice on the pails in the kitchen
to get at the water..   B)
