My proof is having done both on a lot of boards and having seen the
results.  If you want to attempt testing on a huge variety of video
boards to see which is faster MORE often, you're welcome to do so.
"often faster" means exactly that - if you did an average over all
available video boards, I honestly don't know which direction would be
faster, but I've certainly seen bottom to top drawing come out faster
often enough for it to easily qualify as "often".
