subject: Re: Sponsor anti-war forum - get federal subpoena

From: "Rich Gauszka"

Supposedly they are looking for one person who attempted to climb a fence
at a guard base. The tactics are overkill. The one good thing is the story
is making newspapers around the country ( an electrified fence would have
made both the story and the protestor a non-issue )

In what may be the first subpoena of its kind in decades, a federal judge
has ordered a university to turn over records about a gathering of anti-war
activists.

In addition, the subpoena orders the university to divulge all records
relating to the local chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, a New
York-based legal activist organization that sponsored the forum. The group
plans to challenge the order.
