There is a document at MSDN called "PRB: IntelliSense Features Do Not
Appear in Visual Basic 6.0 for .NET COM Interop Components" which sounds
like the right item. It is at

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;813809

They seem to have a solution for this that sounds like it will work, by
defining an extra interface. By the way, the Status section reports that
infamous "This behavior is by design."
