subject: Did I get them all?

Hi, Paul.

PE> FM> Yes, the disk is there now all I need is the time and the inclination.
PE> FM> Like, why do I want/need to "know about all this
stuff"? All I want to
PE> FM> do is write and receive messages (and the occasional file) with minimum

PE> FM> it worth it?

PE> The only way you will know for sure is to try it. The important things
PE> are:

PE> 1. The software was designed specifically for fidonet.

The software I have works with Fidonet, for the most part. The
exceptions while inconvenient are no more than that and the time (mine)
to handle them would still, even over the course of several years, be
less than the time for me to learn a whole new set of software.

PE> 2. The software allows you to use a messagesbase.

That would be a useful benefit. Currently I use text-file saves of
anything which is important to me.

PE> 3. The software allows you to write netmail.

I can do that now, and even get it right most of the time. :-)

PE> 4. The software allows you to have the full 72-character subject string.

Also potentially useful, although maybe not with so many QWK-type
readers around which truncate it.

PE> PE> The fact that you're getting any zone 1 stuff is great, it means you're

The traffic is still very light, 30 in Int'l Pascal in the most recent
packet.

PE> PE> connected to my favourite echo again too. BFN. Paul.

PE> FM> Oh? What's that?

PE> NET_DEV. BFN. Paul.

Ah.

Regards, fIM.
