You cannot blame Canada because W's Brave New World works on the principle
that suspects are guilty until proven innocent, or because, rather than due
process, they are now subject to kidnapping, rendition, and torture.

Police make mistakes all the time, but our system was designed to help
protect people against those mistakes..  There was a time when Americans
took pride in the fact that the erroneously accused had a right to legal
representation and chance to clear themselves.  That is no longer the case.
