Yes, exactly.
Last night I listened to the CBC radio coverage of the inquiry report, and
the focus of the coverage (and I assume the report, but I haven't read it)
was on the actions of the RCMP and other Canadian government agencies
rather the US authorities per se. I think this emphasis reflects the
average Canadian's view and suspicions as to root causes of this incident.
I have had a low opinion of the RCMP for quite some time now; I'm afraid
this incident does nothing to improve it.
