Greetings, all!
I've found some amazing skills, and some welcome help, in this group
in the past. I'm hoping some kind soul can spare a moment to rescue me
from my most recent problem. I'm using VB6 Professional Edition.
I'm working on an application that collects real time image data
from a digital camera; and I need to display the images in a PictureBox
control. I have a whole library of packaged API functions - provided by
the camera manufacturer - that grab the data from the camera interface,
convert it into bitmap format, and store it in a byte array called
BitMapData. This all works perfectly, even for me. The code examples I
have from the camera manufacturer will write the array data to a file:
Open strFile For Binary Access Write As #1
Put #1, , BitmapData()
Close #1
I can store the data this way, and then use LoadPicture to get the
image into a picture box. That works great. But I need to move the
data quickly - as many frames per second as I can. So I'd rather not be
running to and from the hard drive constantly.
I figure there must be a way to move the data directly from the
array to the picture; but I can't figure out how.
Thanks in advance for help, sources, or suggestions.
