What amuses me Adam, is that you introduce some extremely abstract idea
without any scientific basis claiming which you claim is possible while
claiming impossible travel beyond our solar system with current spacetime
theories. Firstly, if humans ever did go to the stars, under current
physical limitations it would be a one way journey. U.F.O.s would more
likely represent short distance crafts used at the destination. Now for the
primary craft, where are not impossibilities. 'Huge accelerations' do not
pose any problem...you can accelerate at 1g (and simulate earths gravity on
your craft solving lots of potential physical complications) and accelerate
up to the speed of light in around 1 year. Time dilation can be a benefit
and produces no problems on the one way trip...it can even be used to reduce
the trip time. and finally collision between particles is not an impossible
feat to overcome. The density between the stars is about 1 atom per cubic
metre or so, hardly an impossibility for construction design.
Oh, thats teleportation of a single phot , hardly star trek
materials.
