Hi, Wayne.   Saw your message re the different 56K Modems, and I have the 
same problem as yourself.   My problem is that my ISP, (local University) has 
gone over to Motorola 56 completely, and it seems silly not to take advantage 
of the increase in d/l speed, if it is available. They have installed 
ModemSurfer,and seem very happy with it after some months testing, and 
recommended it to me.  They told me the upgrade is 18 months to 2 years down 
the road, and it will be a software upgrade to the standard. Our local 
telephone company has also gone to Motorola 56 Modems, so both parties seem 
to be happy with this technology,but of course, with their finance, they can 
more easily change if they find it necessary. I understand the ModemSurfer 
has the Lucent Datapump, do you have any information on this?       It is 
interesting that two large institutions have chosen Motorola against USR's 
Technology.  If you have any more information on the subject, I would be glad 
to hear from you.
