SE>> SE>> LB> Well, whatever Rowan Williams is, he is not an
"affirming
catholic" - unless refers to the common Anglican use ofboth the
Apostle's and Nicean creeds, where the term "catholic" is used.

My Webster's Seventh Collegiate Dictionary defines "catholic"
dj as: "1. COMPREHENSISE, UNIVERSAL; esp. broad in symapaties,
tastes or interests. 2. cap. a: relating, or forming the church
universal. b : of, relating to, or forming the ancient undivided
Christrian church or a church claiming historical continity from
it; specif. : Roman Catholic"
and Catholic n. : 1. a person who belongs to the universal
CHristian church 2. : a member of Catholic church; specif.
ROMAN CATHOLIC"
My American Heritage Dictionary largely agrees.
Does the Roman Catholic Church disagree with the cited
common univerasality, or does it limit it to only Roman
Catholic acceptances?
Thank you.
Ciao, Ack.
