I recall watching/reading that not even bin Laden expected the towers to
topple, hell, I was completely flabbergasted myself as I watched the first
one go down and said out loud to my empty room - "hurry and get out of
the other one, hurry."

Friedman has been presenting especially good thoughts on the subject on a
consistent basis. I don't agree with *all* of his directions, but overall
he's much better than most.
