It was another ugly day. Prices continued to drop, more than half-way
to a significant change, and volume jumped to +16% above average. My
formula called it another "Distribution" day. The Street is selling
stocks, and it's taking no prisoners.

Now, that's not to say we shouldn't expect pauses and "snapbacks" after
big drops. But self-protection is the primary order of the day, the
week, the month. I wouldn't be planning on a sudden turn around in
November. Don't wait for it, do what you have to do now.

Was it really a good idea for GM to spin-off its Delphi unit? Sure it
made their balance sheet look better temporarily. But GM _needs_ it's
parts supplier--it can't afford to let it go out of business in this
bankruptcy. Well, I'll spare you a diatribe about the failings of the
current short-term bottom-line, and stock-price is all -itis.

Timing Signals: I don't use or recommend timing signals, but they're
fun to watch. If I did though, well, I might use something like this.
(Be warned!! It tends to whipsaw around signal points!)

Last Signal: SELL Date: 10/04/05 S&P: 1214
Winner or Loser: Loser By: -13
