To me that makes waiting criminal. It is amazing how many lies can be packed into one paragraph. The UN resolutions worked perfectly. There are no WMD and it was the UN inspectors who got rid of them with the cooperation of Saddam no less. After the first Gulf war the containment of Iraq was complete and the country represented no threat even to its neighbors, let alone to the US. Those are the facts. Your claim that Saddam lined the pockets of "our future adversaries in the Security Council" is a charge never heard before and ludicrous on the face of it. During the containment years, not a cent went to any of our alleged adversaries on the Security Council and couldn't under the UN resolutions that ended the first war and established the sanctions. The flyovers were illegal under both international and US law. They were initiated by Bush I unilaterally without UN approval. The Iraqis had every right shoot at those planes and couldn't have been faulted under any law for bringing some of the them down. At that, when the Shiites, following Bush I's urgings, revolted against Baghdad, Bush I called off the southern flyovers temporarily to allow Saddam to crush the rebellion, which of course he had every right to do under anyone's law. It was during the crushing of that revolt that the tens of thousands of Shiites were killed, which makes your fatuous claim that Saddam was routinely slaughtering 1000 people a month a huge lie. North Korea was no threat either. His program for producing WMD was curtailed by Clinton and it worked. It fell apart only when Bush II called off the continuing talks, claiming that he doesn't trust Communists and will not talk to them. When the N. Koreans blithely announced they would continue their WMD as the only way to protect themselves from Bush, Bush blinked. He is now talking to N. Korea, while begging N. Korea's neighbors for help in the new negotiations to resolve the problem he had created. I might be more polite about this and say only that you are spinning at an outrageous level, but that is what administration people do to protect their political asses. What is your excuse? You have none. Of course with you radical-right types it is always hard to tell when you are lying and when you are speaking out of total ignorance. In your particular case, I am not quite sure as yet. Maybe it is a little of both. --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
