I keep handy a older plain cd drive, because I have found that some OS's
and Software would not install with a dvd drvie. Sure they work up to a
point in the boot process and then fail.
Not saying that this is your problem, but if all else fails it might be
worth a last try if you can beg, borrow or steal an alternate cd drive.
