Hello Paul,

PE> 1. I have now switched feeds for almost all my stuff to Ted.

PE> 2. I have checked all the echos you are connected to here, and they
PE> are all available from Ted, except for the ones that are local to
PE> here, ie LOCUSER, LOCSYSOP, FOURTH_REICH, RED_OCTOBER. You thus may
PE> want to consider reducing your phone bill by collecting all of them
PE> from your normal feed, and just pick the others up once/week.

I've already requested all the echos that I was getting from you (through
my mail hub), and am waiting for traffic to come through before moving over.

PE> Unless you have plans on setting up a mini-backbone ourselves? E.g.
PE> you don't need to worry about collecting 1100 echos from me, I've got
PE> the capacity. You hook into them, and I'll connect straight to Ted.

Er, I don't want that many... I am currently getting around 40 odd echos,
most of them are fairly low on traffic, so I can keep up easily.

PE> What I would like to see is the ability for people to both get the
PE> normal echos from us, plus the ability to set up small echos that
PE> interest only 1 or 2 people (ref "The Young Ones") and have them
PE> transported via the "backbone" without having to directly call each
PE> other. Frankly, it's no skin off my nose to set up a couple of
PE> hundred small echos like that.

 If there's demand for it...

PE> What are your plans for your system, anyway?

Due to excessive amounts of data our mail hub had to transfer, the mail and
fileecho hubs will be split up. I had volunteered, but the other node who had
requested the most file areas by far, is taking over the file hubbing. It is
being setup just now, so soon I'll get access to the whole sds feed as well.

PE> Mine is to process lots of genuine mail using Tobruk.

Genuine? Is there any other type of mail? :-)

I was ready to handle the file traffic, but since the other node had taken
over, it's one less thing for me to worry about.. :-) As long as I get my
mail and files, I'm happy.
