Yes, you're right, the entire poll is a waste of time from either WMD
angle, that is if we're concerned about the likelihood of those being
polled having a clue about any facts, we're not though, our concern with
polls comes from another place - that of what people think regardless of
how stupid they are for thinking it - it's what they base their vote on and
their impressions must be addressed by the candidates, as crazy as that may
be.

Interestingly in this vein, yesterday Imus made light of that Iranian jet
crash, got called on it by the Iranians and apologized. One of his
sidekicks on the show asked why he apologized since what they said he said
was not in fact what he said and Imus said, it didn't matter what he said,
it was what they thought he said that counted from their point of view,
hence the apology.
