Nope, it was an example of left-wing nut, just as I said originally.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to go dig up the facts and
report back with your findings. It will be difficult, nay impossible, to
find in favor of the misguided principal, when schools all across the
nation allow their entire band, comprised of at least an entire class
worths of kids, to travel for days long, up to a week, trips to compete
with other bands in comparison to single students from multiple schools
taking a single day to play at a state fair - regardless of whether Bush
was there, and especially so since he was.

The experience of those students on stage with the President of the US far
exceeds one day of learning about compound fractions or how to put a condom
on a cucumber - indeed, that principal should have had the whole school
attend for the day in appreciation that one of their students was selected
to perform.
