  Tuesday, July 1st 1947.
  Radars in Roswell, White Sands, Alamagordo accquire an unusual
target. Its speed and maneuvaring are highly unusual & suggest a high
level of development. Radar checks reveal no malfunction to account for
this display.
  Wed., July 2, 1947.
  Dan Wilmot & his wife see an oval object, passing over their house at
a high rate of speed.
  Thursday, July 3, 1947.
  Steve Mackenzie is ordered to White Sands, where he spends nearly 24
hours watching the object on radar, even using mirrors so as not to
take his eyes of the screen per his orders. ( Account verified by
another radar operator at this time.)
   Friday, July 4, 1947.
  The 1st special flight arrives from Washington. Onboard is Warrant
Officer Robert Thomas with his team. On arrival, they change into
civilian clothes. This team will remain throughout the operations.

 William Woody & his father watch something fall toward earth with a
red trail, north of Roswell.
  *****
  WW "Mac" Brazel hears a loud thunderclap unlike the rest of the
ongoing thunderstorm near Corona. Others will also report hearing an
explosion.

  At 11:27 PM. the radar sites continue to track the object. It seems
to pulsate a number of times, then explodes in a "starburst". The
military now believes the unkown has crashed (IBID, 160.)

  A group of Franciscan Nuns making astronomical observations also
observe something fall to earth at this time.
  ****
  Two young people, Jim Ragsdale & Judy Trulove see a bright flash and
hear a roaring sound that passes overhead. Ragsdale knows something has
struck the ground not far from their campsite.
