So have I. What version of changi did you try? Getting the older versions
(ie, v0.9 series) running was rather a challenge, but since v1.0 the install
has become quite straightforward.

Why would you have two copies of every message? That certainly doesn't
happen here and I've been using changi for about two years now. And changi
allows you to filter incoming messages so you can avoid a great deal of spam
with judicious use of your filter.cf file. Just a couple lines like this
will filter out the lion's share of spam:

Sure. There's plenty. NR/2 comes with OS/2 and does an adequate job. Web
Explorer can read news. There's ProNews in wide beta currently that sounds
quite capable. MR/2 can read both news and mail. SLRN and YARN are both
available for OS/2, as are rn and trn ported from Unix. If you're willing to
run a Windows newsreader there's several of those that work also. Free Agent
seems quite popular and I'm sure there's others.
