Yes, Mark just reminded me that the SIO package contains a virtual modem
to use for this purpose. I had completely forgotten about it but recall
having read about it in the doc's.

However, I don't know if SIO can be used with other operating systems
since I'm using it under OS/2. Have to re-read the docs myself, hi.
