DC=>Had a customer in the store today that was looking for a
DC=>neoprene adhesive. Turns out that she was trying to mend
DC=>a wet suit.....that her dog wears.
DC=>Not only does it keep the dog warm, but it acts as a
DC=>lifepreserver for the dog.
Not a half-bad (as opposed to half-baked ) idea... though I'd only
recommend it for smooth hair/short hair dogs - otherwise the zipper
and/or velcro closures used would snag on the fur when
donning/doffing, too the fur would matte (and smell!) under the suit
anytime the dog got wet (remember - a wet suit is "supposed" to have
water in it!)
Health-wise for the dog?... I'd check with a vet to make sure it's not
harming the dog in any way - the first consideration (for people) with a
wet suit is overheating... a dog controls its' heat loss through the
mouth rather than whole-body perspiration (like us) so that aspect is
possibly OK: the vet check, I think, is imperative.
What's wrong with the doggy/kitty life jackets they sell in the stores?
Does the same thing, leaves 75% of the torso uncovered, and already has
a nifty little handle on it!... usually about $20-40 (Toronto area).
