Hello
   Some newer mobo bioses allow for hard setting drive order.  It might be
worthwhile to first do some checking if you haven't already to see if your
present bios has a section called something like "boot order" or
"hdd seek order".  IIRC the way to handle SCSI mixed with IDE is
either to enable "seek other boot devices" or if it has it
"scsi devices".  Failing that, search for a bios update that does
have this feature.  I don't know how you feel about betas but I have used
beta bioses many times and never experienced a single problem.  Perhaps the
old adage is truer than ever "Software is either beta, obsolete , or
both"
