I've always said no American should be allowed more than 10
million. After that what you 'earn' should be given away. How
to give this away I do not know but why horde? 

I have heard Gates tell this before and if he means it (he may
be saying this for some not obvious reason?) then I would say
he is a thoughtful husband and father. Gates money is too much
for anyone unaccustom to that much power and it would attract
some extremely talented hustlers, liars, and thieves to his
widow and his children. 

If they can't 'make it' on 10 million then 10-100 billion won't
save them either it would just be stolen from them anyhow. 

No one cares to admit it but Gates handles his situation very
well compared to others who go nutso as soon as they have a few
denaro.
