Considering the community you live in, there should be plenty of old-timers 
with lots of practical knowledge in these areas. :-)  I don't think I'll ever 
forget how red one of my uncle's face became when this topic came up a few 
years ago.  He and his children were in for a family reunion in Dover when an 
old friend stopped by and wanted to talk about the good old days, 
particularly the alcohol fuel making device they had jointly operated.
