HI,
All my machines had and have IBMbootmanager installed, and I use HPFS for
ECSv1.2 not JFS.. I could be wrong but I thought ECSv1.2 had to be on an
HPFS partition. Don't know anything about JFS.
I normally restrict my operating sytems to a partition big enough to load
the OS, except for XP (bloatware) which I might allow upto 32gigs, the max
XP will format).
ECS only requires 1gig. I place all my data elsewhere.
I still recommend a minimalist install.
Good Luck.

Are you keeping your install partition <64GB if not using JFS?
