Don;

The OEM DVD drives usually come in a "plain white wrapper", they might
not be bundled with any Windows Software, they might not even have a
Warranty Card (since they expect the OEM [e.g. "The Donald O. Woodall
White Box Computer Company, LLC]) to provide the Warranty to the
"Ultimate Customer". For The Warranty, make sure NewEgg will take care
of you...

 From looking around the Pacific Digital web site, Pacific Digital is
the OEM for about a Dozen DVD Manufactures, including BenQ who made my
particular Pacific Digital DVD writer.. By that measure, other OEM's
also sell the BenQ DVD Drive as well...

By just their names, NEC and Sony are Top Rate!!! Unless they now have a
"cheap line", they should be good... Lite-On, IIRC, always seems to
have favorable reviews on there products, because of Price. I don't
know about their Performance.. I have not seen every review, so you will
need see what others have to say about Lite-On... For your needs, any
of them might be fine....

I am always glad to help you Don....
