| subject: | Re: [OS2HW] Changing partition size and still able to boot os2 |
Hello Hmmm is it not possible to shrink the last big drive and move the others over to create more space for XP, assuming 2 things 1) IIRC the 1024th cylinder is still an issue with OS/2 (or at least under many conditions) so that would best be watched and heeded to not exceed wit OS/2 partition - PQMagic can handle that under "Properties" or "Info" 2) If a boot utility like Airboot is used which can handle flip-flopping 05 and 0f partitions and ignore LVM problems/features, seeme to me I have booted OS/2 with Airboot after having changed partition sizes in a similar fashion but there are a few options that must be checked in Airboot Am I remembering clearly or not? Jimmy PS Although I agree DFSee is better (takes no chances and no prisoners) some people like options that don't require learning "D" to understand "C" so you can learn "B" so you can do "A" (maybe they were willing to take 2 sidetrips but not 3) or in other words stacking the learning curve and would prefer to trade maybe a minimal risk for a right now solution so he/she can move on to what he/she truly has interest. > Duncan Way wrote: > > > > Is there any way I could check beforehand that adding the space to C: would > stop > > either OS/2 from booting.
