I have to be honest, no - I clean forgot that DOS checks the type of a file
before it runs it, and doesn't rely purely on the extension.
So - apologies to that other person as well :) One thing still stands though 

if you manage to get dos to run an exe as a com file, or the other way 
round,
you're in trouble...
