LL>Hello Everybody, LL>Everybody knows about the Ides of March. But how many folks know about LL>the Ides of Augustus? Historically, the Ides of Augustus has been LL>connected to tragedy. After all, Princess Diana died on the Ides of LL>Augustus (March 18). And this March 18, 2003 the Ides of Augustus will LL>be upon us yet again. Being that there is a resolution pending in the LL>United Nations to set a deadline of March 17 for Iraq to comply with LL>United Nations resolutions calling for disarmament, the Ides of Augustus LL>could be a day of reckoning for Iraq and for the world. LL>The date of the Ides of Augustus can be written as 3-18. Europeans do LL>things backwards, so the Ides of Augustus could be written 18-3. By LL>transposing the numbers of the date, one can come up with 138. What LL>does all of that mean? Well, let's take a look at good ol' Nostradamus, LL>to see what he saw of future events - LL>Century 3, Quatrian 18 LL>---------------------- LL>After the rather long milky rain, LL>several places in Reims will be touched by lightning. LL>Oh what a bloody battle is approaching them, LL>fathers and sons' kings will not dare approach. LL>Century 1, Quatrain 83 LL>---------------------- LL>The alien nation will divide the spoils. LL>Saturn in dreadful aspect in Mars. LL>Dreadful and foreign to the Tuscans and Latins, LL>Greeks who will wish to strike. LL>Century 1, Quatrain 38 LL>---------------------- LL>The Sun and the Eagle will appear to the victor. LL>An empty answer is assured to the defeated. LL>Neither bugle nor shouts will stop the soldiers. LL>Liberty and peace, if achieved in time through death. LL>Century 8, Quatrain 13 LL>---------------------- LL>The crusader brother through impassioned love LL>will cause Bellerophon to die through Proetus; LL>the fleet for a thousand years, the maddened woman, LL>the potion drunk, both of them then die. LL>Note also that the 18th of March is the night of the Full Moon. LL>The day after the Ides of Augustus comes the Ides of Novem, which LL>is very strongly connected. Continuing with Nostradamus, this is LL>what he saw of the things that will be - LL>Century 3, Quatrain 19 LL>---------------------- LL>In Lucca it will come to rain blood and milk, LL>shotrly before a change of governor. LL>Great plague and war, famine and drought will be seen, LL>far from where the prince and ruler dies. LL>Century 1, Quatrain 93 LL>---------------------- LL>The Italian lands near the mountains will tremble. LL>The Cock and the Lion not strongly united. LL>In place of fear they will help each other. LL>Freedom alone moderates the French. LL>Century 1, Quatrain 39 LL>---------------------- LL>At night the last one will be strangled in his bed LL>because he became too involved with the blood heir elect. LL>The Empire is enslaved and three men substituted. LL>He is put to death with neither letter nor packet read. LL>Century 9, Quatrain 13 LL>---------------------- LL>The exiles around Sologne, LL>led by night to march into Auxas, LL>two from Moderna for the cruel one of Bolognia; LL>put, discovered, by the fire of the Buzan‡ais. LL>Is "long milky rain" a reference to bio/chemical weapons of mass LL>destruction? What about the phrase "rain blood and milk" as a reference LL>to bio/chemical weapons of mass destruction? Why the phrase "crusader LL>brother", if not a reference to a Christian leader taking armas against LL>a Muslim ruler? Look at the prophecies of Nostradamus, and make up your LL>own minds. Did he see the future? Or was he merely a fancy poet? LL>Comments? Hi again Lee: You can relax Lee; the Ides of Augustus occurred during time indicated by the Julian calendar, which Great Britian replaced with the Gregorian calendar (established by Pope Gregory XIII in 1582) for its self and its colonies in 1752 (at which time 15 days were lost in making the adjustment). Hence the anniversity of the Ides of Augustus has pasted, at least for this year. I am reasonably sure the French adopted the Gregorian calendar much earler than the English; so if we are fortunate to be still extant on or about March 2, 2004; we may consider your warning again.
